Mirwaiz Umar Farooq's Emotional Return to Imamate After 4 Years of House Arrest
Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was
under house arrest for 4 years, got excited when he got the opportunity to lead
Friday prayers and Imamate for the first time after his release. His video went
viral on social media.
It should be noted that yesterday India
released the Hurriyat leader of Occupied Kashmir, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, after
keeping him under house arrest for more than 4 years. After his release, he
delivered the first Friday sermon and led the prayer at the historic Jamia
Masjid in Srinagar.
In a video that went viral on social media
yesterday, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq can be seen drinking water during the Friday
prayer sermon. On this occasion, thousands of worshipers gathered in the mosque
to see him and a large number of people also raised slogans in favor of
freedom.
During the sermon, he said that this period of
my detention and separation from my people has been the most painful for me
since the death of my father, during which he also became depressed.
